About

I wanted to make my own BBQ sauce that would go with my Firehouse Ribs and wings so I came up with this sauce one afternoon by combining part ingredients from ten of the most popular BBQ sauces across America.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of tomato sauce
  • 11/4 Cups of Soft dark brown sugar
  • 3 TBSP  Liquid Smoke
  • 1 TBSP Worcester Sauce
  • 2 TSP Mustard Powder
  • 2 TBSP Cider Vinegar
  • 1 TSP Soy Sauce
  • 1 TSP Dried Thyme
  • 1 TSP Onion Powder
  • 1 TSP Garlic Powder
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 25ml Jack Daniels

 Method

Combine all of the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil stirring continuously to stop any sugar sticking to the bottom of the pan,  then turn down to the lowest setting and simmer for 30 minutes until thick and sticky.

Serving Suggestions

Pour over my Firehouse Ribs and Cody’s BBQ Wings for the sweet sticky BBQ flavour or simply use as a sauce for poring and  dipping.
